It's HEEEEERRRRRRE!! My 100mm 2.8 macro IS arrived on Thursday night. I was pretty excited. Seriously...ask my husband. I heard the doorbell ring and almost tripped over my own feet when I jumped off the couch to run to the front door. I think I MAY have told the delivery man I loved him...
Yes...I used the lens to take a picture of the lens box. So what.
Some people get excited about clothes, or furniture, or iphones...I get excited about lenses. And kitchen supplies. For Christmas a couple years ago, one of my gifts from my husband was the set of kitchen-aid copper-rimmed cookware I'd been drooling over for a while. It was possibly my favorite gift. My friend Debbie said that if HER husband bought her cookware for Christmas, he'd be in BIG trouble...but I was PUMPED!
I also get excited about books, old and new. And dresses. Ok, and furniture too :) I'm an easy person to buy things for.
So basically...this lens rocks my face off. I went out this morning...LITERALLY in my backyard, to take a few quick shots. It's April, and I'm in Newfoundland, sooooo.....suffice it to say there's not a whole lot of vegetation, or color....but regardless, it took me these two shots to realize that I'm going to be VERY happy with this lens. Super sharp, and fast,...and beautiful macro, which really was my main reason for choosing it.
These two shots were taken at f/5, exposure at 1/400, with the FDL switch set to macro option (.3m - .5m). I love. See...even dead ol' pinecones are pretty!
