I think I cried all the way from the Diplomat (where this picture was taken), to the North Sydney ferry. It wasn't a great day for me.
*** As a side-note, I feel the need to point out that since the above picture was taken, our Barbour/Palmer/Hawkins family has grown by 1 wife, 1 baby boy, 2 baby girls, 2 puppies...and about a foot-and-a-half in height.(thanks to Nathan, who is now about 8'4...or 6'4. Whatever.)
Three and a half years later, in 2011, we requested a reposting from Bell Island to Nain, which is the most Northern policed community in NFLD. It's a fly-in community of approximately 1300 people. Needless to say, for the two years we've been here, most of my work has been during our twice-a-year trips to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island!
While I've missed working on a regular basis, I've enjoyed every second of our time here in Nain, and I've loved being able to be a stay-at-home-mom to our Tiny Human. That being said...I am VERY excited to announce that after five-and-a-half years away from our families and home provinces, we're coming home! We're going to be transferring to Moncton, NB this summer...hopefully by mid-July at the latest. Our up-coming Spring trip to NB and PEI is going to be pretty jam-packed, so for this reason I'm not going to be booking any sessions for those weeks. However, I have started taking bookings for Moncton and surrounding areas beginning mid-August.
I feel SO incredibly blessed to have had such great experiences in Newfoundland & Labrador...a HUGE thank you to all my clients in Nain and in and around St. John's, Bell Island, and CBS. I've enjoyed meeting every single one of you, and wish you nothing but the very best!
