Kindly ignore the fall-back to my old watermark...these photos were edited a few months back, before my little watermark/blog/site overhaul :)
I had the opportunity to photograph this lovely lady and her growing belly a few months ago, and was very happy to hear about the safe arrival of Little "LQ" just last week :) I'm ALSO very excited to meet up with her and the Little Princess when I arrive back in NFLD for what I'm certain will be an insanely precious newborn shoot :) Kindly ignore the fall-back to my old watermark...these photos were edited a few months back, before my little watermark/blog/site overhaul :) Um...HI holy gorgeous Mama!!! Definite favorite :) I want pretty eyes! Just in complete love with this shot. I don't think I even HAVE this many friends.... Friend, you are so super gorgeous! Cannot WAIT to photograph Tiny Miss "LQ" !!!

Yesterday afternoon, Husband and I were driving through Moncton on our way to Fredericton, and he got a very important phone call. Last year, we requested Nain, Labrador as our next posting. Nain is an isolated post in northern Labrador. It's actually the most Northern policed community in NFLD & Labrador, and is a fly-in, coastal community of only 1200 people. We found out "unofficially" last November that that's likely where we're headed, and we were told "on paper" April 1st. Since then, this has been how most of my conversations go: Client: "I'm looking to have my family/maternity/engagement photos done sometime in the late summer..." Me: "I'm sorry, I'm actually not going to be here then...my husband and I are being moved to Labrador" Client: "Oh...well...when are you moving?" Me: "....................I don't know." So it's been GREAT for business (insert sarcasm here). We were told we could be moved anytime between April 1st and July 1st. Specific, I know....kind of like the phone company telling you they'll be by to fix your line "between 9am and 5pm". Um, thanks. I've had a very hard time having to turn business away for late summer/fall....as well as many 2012 weddings. I LOVE taking pictures, and I LOVE meeting new families...and it's a little stressful to think of all the opportunities I'll be missing while living in Nain. But. Then I remind myself that in Nain, I can take pictures of wolves. and polar bears. and giant snow covered mountains, and Northern Lights, and a sun that rises at 3am. And then my heart feels happy again! So. To all potential clients...I'm basically not taking any more booking before moving to Nain. However, we're only there for 2 years...so if you'd like to book a spot for 2013...my schedule is wide open!!! Meet Adam and Keshia. Keshia is currently growing a little Bean in her belly, and they are choosing not to find out the sex yet, which I think is super duper exciting :) If they look familiar, it's because this wasn't my first time photographing their beautiful faces: I did their e-session, back in August of last year. In tribute to their last sessions, we decided to whip out Ye Old Chalkboard once again. It was, until then, hanging in my kitchen with "JOY" written across it. These 2 are so much fun, and SO easy to photograph. It makes me endlessly happy to photograph people who I don't have to remind to keep smiling :) This shot just cracks me up like nothing else! Most definitely one of my top ten favourites of ALL time!! Once again. I don't usually prefer a b&w shot to color, but I'm LOVING this one with a little noise brought in! Such a beautiful momma-to-be! Do you know the difference between a bunny and a rabbit? I don't. Three little "Brunnies" decided to bust in on our shoot...although technically I guess it was probably us imposing on their turf :) Definitely one of my favourites from the whole shoot! Congrats you two: I hope I'm still on our Little Island when that Little Bean decides to make his or her appearance, so I can meet them!
Happy Thursday! Here are my "mucho love" shots from the second half of my shoot with the Butlers! This family has WAY too much beautiful-ness floating around! Four more reasons it's going to be hard to move away from St. John's :(
This was my third time shooting this beautiful family, and my FIRST time since The Tiny Prince made his appearance! Usually I wait until ALL the photos are done before I blog them....but today I can't help it. So go ahead, and say nice things about how cute these kids are (although to be fair I really can't take credit for ANY part in that...I only take the pictures!)
