This was my third time shooting this beautiful family, and my FIRST time since The Tiny Prince made his appearance! Usually I wait until ALL the photos are done before I blog them....but today I can't help it. So go ahead, and say nice things about how cute these kids are (although to be fair I really can't take credit for ANY part in that...I only take the pictures!)

Baby eyes are too precious. Sometimes I can hardly continue editing, because i just want to stare at those eyes!!!! Especially when they're as blue as Little Mr. "R"'s !!!!! Check.....it.....OUT! Green background = new fave! Much love for this shot! A most-favourite from the shoot!
Taking a cue from my favourite of favourites, the wonderful Bobbi + Mike (www.bobbiandmike.com/), I decided to compile my most-loved shots from my 2010 sessions. Whereas most people would do a separate "Top ___" for each genre (family, maternity, newborn, etc.), my lack of patience (doubled by my desire to be sitting on the couch with a can of pepsi in the near future), has led me to instead compile only ONE list. So here are my most FAVORITE photos from 2010! (***I'm cheating already....2 of these photos were actually taken in early January 2011 sessions. Let's just say my 2010 year goes from February to February. Annnnnd GO!) #20 #19 #18 #17 #16 #15 #14 #13 #12 #11 #10 #9 #8 #7 #6 #5 #4 (a bit biased?.....hmmm...perhaps...) #3 #2 annnnnnnd #1 !!!!! Yeesh. 2010 was fun :)
This handsome man turned 1 the day of this shoot, and since it wasn't storming yet we were able to walk to a nearby park for a few outdoor pictures prior to our indoor shoot. Personally, I'm in love with the "cry face" pictures :)
I was so so SO pumped about taking this little monkey's pictures again! Our first session was back in the summer, and while I don't think she's grown a while lot since then, her precious curly hair HAS gotten longer and bouncier!!! What a little doll :)
Precious nephew #2. We spent the night at J's Mama's house while in Fredericton, and while there we headed out to the backyard with Kayden, an apple, and an antique rocking chair. Little did I know that the apple would make it's way into almost every shot... Don't you just want to CHEW ON HIS CHEEKS?!?! Sigh...I have the best nephews ever made :) Lately I'm drooooooling over this warm b&w finish with a little extra noise brought in...
Sometimes, I see a kid that is so stylish, I want to hire his or her mom to dress ME. Enter, Mr. "A". Seriously, seriously precious. Yah, you guys are a pretty good-looking family all around! My favorite shot(s) of the day! Love the hat...sweater...scarf...all of it!!! Hands down, best. jacket. EVER!
We were blessed with an UNNATURALLY dry and warm day for the Hancock's shoot! They have a park just a few houses down from their place, so we headed there for some of these fun shots! BACKWARDS day! I'm posting my favorite image FIRST!! And ps...when a 1-year-old has on super awesome DC shoes...how do you NOT take pictures of them!??! Love that tie! My kids are going to wear cool ties every day. What a rockstar.
My husbers has known the Hansons since elementary school (except back then...they weren't married...or probably even dating too seriously ;) ) and every time we head to NB we try to make plans to meet up with them and their beautiful girls...plans that usually don't end up working :( That said, I was pumped not only to take to take their photos, but also just to catch up with them!
So today is the last full day of my month long "vacation"....although technically, I worked about 1/2 the days I was here. I'd rather just stay here and not go home, buuuuut I'm guessing my house is getting pretty dirty, and my husband might be losing weight from eating cereal and toast 3x a day... I have had SO much fun photographing some of the most beautiful families, couples, babies, and, "indoor" babies...aka maternity shoots :)I've ALSO had a lot of fun taking way too many photos of my beautiful nephews. The 2 younger ones (Nephews 2 and 3) are still a bit too young to protest, but here's a typical remark you might here from my 3-year-old nephew when he sees my camera bag: "I don't waaaaaaant a picture...I'm tiiiiiiired of pictures". Well, he should've thought about that before he decided to have such a cute face! And of course, the Littlest Palmer and his matching hat :) So as sad as I am to be leaving the precious nephews, I AM looking forward to getting home and (finally) getting all decorated for Christmas! Usually I'm so impatient that I have everything done super early, but I find the longer I wait to decorate, the more exciting it is!
We usually wait until J has the night off, so that we can decorate together. And by "decorate together", I mean that I haul out the tree, set it up, and decorate it according to my annual theme (this year I'm upgrading last years' "A Very Country Christmas" to "A Very VERY Country Christmas") while J sits on the couch playing PS3 with his headset on so he can't hear my "Kenny & Dolly" CD. Sigh. Memories. |
